Just an observation, it seems strange to me, but there are so many Christians in my classes. It seems like God knew I might have a hard time being in a totally secular environment without any fellow Christians by my side. In my Spanish class, it's weird, but I sit right near three Christians. One sits behind me, Adam, but it's a strange story. At first, we never sat near eachother, but then one day he just got up and sat behind me, and we started talking and he is a Christian. Then there was this boy, and I only talked to him once or twice so far, but he used to go to Calvary Chapel. I don't sit near him, I only sat by him once. Then there's this girl, she and I get along really well, her name is Kristina. She and I never sat near eachother, but then one day we started talking, and she's also a Christian and we always go to language lab together. There's also another girl, Marissa, and she sits behind and to the left of me, and she's a Christian too. In front of me, there are two girls that aren't Christian, and I am glad there are other Christians around to talk to them with me. I think God has been extremely gracious and provided me with brothers and sisters in my class. Just, like I said, an observation.

This weekend we did the 30 Hour Famine. We stopped eating at twelve on Saturday (while we were sleeping) and didn't eat again until this monring, Monday, at 6:00. I wasn't even hungry after a certain point either, but it was fun. I liked the concert most. Aaron's band played, so did Matt's, and both were pretty good. I liked Aaron's style. His music style was rock, it was pretty cool. I also liked when Stephen, Candie and I just went and played guitar, because even though I am horrible at playing, and my rythm kept on throwing Stephen off, he still let me play, lol. I used my brother Steve's guitar. I think Steve and Maggie did an excellent job being in charge too, but I know it was hard. There were a lot of shall we say rambunctious people there. I was proud of them though, they handled it well. I was glad I was able to make it the whole way this year, too. And despite the fact that I had to get up in front of people I didn't know and say why I was doing the 30 Hour Famine and what it meant to me even though I didn't have anything prepared, I had fun. It wasn't so bad either, it was easier than following an outline like in my speech class.

It's raining like crazy here! I'm so glad! I couldn't love the rain more! Anyways, I get to do the 30 hour famine this Sunday. You can talk to me about sponsoring me if you want, hehe. I hope I can go the whole time this year without getting sick. Just keep your prayers out for me, I should be alright... I hope.
Shea had to have surgery on Wednesday, she had to have her tonsils out, and something about her adenoids too, I think. So she hasn't eaten solid food since Tuesday night anyway, so she's all prepared for this. Katie gets to do the 30 hour famine too! I'm so excited! If you don't know what the 30 hour famine is, it's where we go 30 hours without food to get a taste of poverty experienced by (who else?) impoverished people, and we have people sponsor us, and all the money goes to World Vision who uses it to cut back on world hunger. Well, that's all for now.

Well, in response to Maggie's question, it just didn't go the way I wanted it to because I skipped alot of words I wanted to use to link together my points, and the teacher got confused, so it made my grade go down.
Well, the youth group served at the Valentine's Day Banquet last night, which is basically the kids serve the adults that come. It was alot of fun! I had to do nursery part of the time, that wasn't too much fun, but I didn't have to do it too long, so that was good. Every year they buy those stupid candie hearts that say stuff, and we all end up throwing them all over the place at eachother, I don't know why they continue with them, but hey, it provides entertainment for us! And I always try to clean them up as much as possible, haha! Jk threw one at me, and it hit my finer right on the joint and it's all bruised and hurts now, it's funny though. Anyways, we had alot of fun, we got pizza, we made alot of people there happy, it was a very good night. Steve and Maggie did an excellent job supervising and helping us! :) Good job guys, I love ya! :)

Hey kids! Well, I gave my speech today. It didn't go the way I wanted it to, but if it had gone the way I wanted it to, It would have been like I was the president giving the State of the Union Address. O'well, I got a B. It's not bad I suppose. Anyways, I'll have to pick a more narrow topic next time, but I guess I did alright. Anyways, that's all. Comments? Hmm...

Hey kids! I have a little thing I like to call an outline for you! This is what I'm doing my speech about on Thursday, and pray for me because I don't know how a good majority of my listeners will react to this speech because I know alot of them aren't Christian. Thanks ya'lls! :)

INTRODUCTION
I. How many of you are familiar with mainstream artists such as Eminem, U2, and Christina Aguilera? A lot of you probably know about these artists, but don’t know there are more enriching alternatives with cleaner lyrics to most of those artists.
II. (Thesis) There is often more than one alternative to secular music artists.
III. (Scope) Today, I’d like to share with you several Christian alternatives to music in the rock, pop, and rap genres of music. I’d also like to share with you why listening to Christian music is beneficial, and where to find a couple of Christian radio stations.
BODY
I. I have some alternatives in the rock genre. (A genre is a field of music.)
A. There are a couple great replacements for Matchbox Twenty and Third Eye Blind.
1. One good alternative is Polar Boys.
2. Another good alternative is Audio Adrenaline.
B. If you enjoy U2, Sanctus Real is a good alternative
II. I have some good alternatives in the pop genre of music.
A. I have a few good replacements for the pop artist Christina Aguilera.
1. Stacie Orrico is a great, uplifting alternative.
2. If you like Christina’s voice, Rachel Lampa is a good choice, and has also been compared to Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, and Mariah Carey in the Christian magazine Guideposts for Teens in the April/May 2002 issue for her CD Kaleidoscope.
3. Nichole Nordeman has an equally beautiful voice.
4. Joy Williams is also a good replacement if it’s about the voice, though her music falls in a softer class of music.
B. If you enjoy Backstreet Boys and N’sync, Plus One’s earlier CDs are great substitutes.
III. I have a couple of good alternative for the rap artist Eminem.
A. John Rueben is a good alternative.
B. KJ52 shares similar style with Eminem, but his lyrics entertain the thoughts in a much better manner.
IV. Listening to Christian music is very beneficial.
A. Christian music always has a positive message, unlike some secular music, which sometimes drags us down.
B. It provides hope in the lyrics. It also provides comfort.
C. It teaches us that we are not alone; we always have our Creator.
D. It is not shallow like a lot of secular songs can be.
V. I also have some good alternative radio stations, which provide excellent music samples.
